Previous owner accidentally ground through the hull into the bilge from the exterior, keel area. When they repaired it, they used a bondo like material which contained talcum powder. Talcum powder absorbs water and expands so not the best choice. Had to grind out the area a bit larger, then fill in with fiberglass.
Used the shop-vac to suck up all the water in the bilge and then used epoxy to fill in the grinder hole with chopped strand fiberglass. Then covered with about 4 layers of fiberglass extending about 6 inches larger than the cutline.
I had to cut out the cabin sole to gain access to the inside of the bilge where I laid down 2 additional coats of fiberglass cloth on the inside of the bilge to complete the repair.
