Well, would have, could have, should have….
I fried my controller trying to repair a broken wire in not so ideal conditions and not taking enough time. Shortcuts got me. I shorted some wires and although I had the circuit break off, the capacitance power in the controller ended up fusing together some very unfortunate parts of the controller and I shorted my boat system out.
Battery BMS’s kicked in and shut the whole system down from a very amateur move. I guess that was the good part, nothing else fried.
I am currently stuck on the first leg of my journey to Nova Scotia as I get this repaired. I tell you, it isn’t easy without the mobility of a car and land. Everything takes a while. The full story is on my Patreon page, which you can access here. It includes driving to Detroit, buying a new controller and getting the boat out of the way of the swing bridge!
I’ll be adding some more details when I get a little down time, stay tuned!
