As the colder nights are setting in, being about 12 celsius during the day and about 5-8 at night, we need some improvements on nightime heating. I piicked up a diesel cabin heater off of Amazon and installed it.
Installation was fairly simple, and consisted of running power, 12 volts and negative, to a couple of wires on the wiring harness. The harness included wiring to the fuel pump, furnace, and digital controller.
Once running, I was pretty amazed at the amount of heat it generated. In the fall air, which was about 5 to 8 degrees Celsius (41 to 46 Fahrenheit) at night, it was able to warm the cabin up to about 20 degrees Cel (60 F). This made sleeping pretty comfortable.
This video is the installation from start to finish of the cabin heater and the adjustments made to accommodate the heater.
