It’s amazing that after purchasing Northern Comfort June 16th that we are already going into the water, with a working engine and a sparkling new painted hull!
We never did end up getting the lighting working properly, I tried in vain getting the anchor light to work. It turned out in the end a corroded cable which I repaired over into 2020. I went the season without one.
This video has some final preparation and delivery by transport to the marina. We then stepped the mast with the Harbour West crew and watched the 80 tonne crane / boat travel lift scoop up Northern Comfort with ease and lowered her into the harbour.
We had a forced break in the middle of the launch from the huge thunderstorms which blew by. We had 15 minutes of non-stop thunder it was ominous.
We did have a small leak, it was a cross threaded through-hull valve which the crew fixed by reseating the handle (straight). It was interesting backing out of the drop slip as we had to turn 90 degrees as they were dredging, but with some shoving we were able to sit on the waiting docks until clear to pass later that night and make our way to the marina docks.
