Sailing Vessel Northern Comfort is a 35′ / 10.67m masthead sloop with fin keel skeg hung rudder, originally built in 1975. The hull is number #17. The hull is solid fibreglass and was originally powered by an Atomic 4 gas engine (about 30hp).
The name Northern Comfort was the original name and it just seems to suit the craft. It was a play on ‘Southern Comfort’ we believe, the popular whiskey which was a favorite of the previous owner and NorthStar which is the original manufacturer name of Hughes brothers Company before Howard Hughes bought the company in 1977. It was built in the Huron Park factory.
